Texas has a plan to give Donald a big boost for the border wall.

During his immensely successful State of the Union speech, President Donald Trump promised America a border wall.

Now Congress has offered a solution to keep the government open, but it includes less than $2 billion for the border, and Trump’s prototype walls cannot be used.

Trump held a blockbuster rally in El Paso, Texas, and at the same time Texas stepped up to offer some massive help for the President.

They’re planning to get the President halfway to his goal!

“Two Texas statehouse members will soon introduce legislation funding President Donald Trump’s planned border wall along the U.S. border with Mexico — specifically the Texas border…

State Reps. Kyle Biedermann and Briscoe Cain intend to introduce legislation soon that would fund $2.5 billion of wall construction along the Texas border with Mexico…

…appropriating it from the economic stabilization fund for the state fiscal year ending August 31, 2019.“

That’s right, $2.5 billion!

And best of all, every last penny will be directed toward enhanced border security, including “installing physical barriers.”

As Rep. Biedermann details:

“…to design, test, construct, and install physical barriers, roads, and technology along the international land border between the State of Texas and Mexico to prevent illegal crossings in all areas..“

Perfect!

If the idea flies, that $2.5 billion will be “given to Texans and Texas-owned entities” for the express purpose of “all phases of construction.”

Now, this is great news for another reason, too:

Firstly, Republicans control the Texas statehouse and furthermore, Texas governor Greg Abbott is a definite friend to Trump.

Secondly, Texas is essentially THE border state; given its size and its adjacent position to Mexico, most illegals end up flooding into Texas.

Seems like a fantastic solution, at least in part.

And it needs to be done, because Democrats – who now control the House of Representatives in D.C. – obviously won’t let any wall bill through.

On top of which, Trump has already said he’ll shut down the government again later this week if no border wall agreement is reached.

So, this is it. This is a great start and our best chance for vastly improved border security.
