Former President Donald Trump has announced he’s running again in 2024, though recent polls have shown his popularity waning.
And after Republicans failed to deliver a “red wave” during the midterm elections, right-wing citizens worry that 2024 could be tough to win.
But Trump thinks he knows the key to victory — and it’s not what his fans were expecting to hear.
For a while, Republican leaders have pushed back against the relatively new practices of mail-in ballots, ballot harvesting, absentee voting, etc.
Unfortunately, it appears that a hefty percentage of the country is on board, as more and more people aren’t voting in person.
As a result, the GOP fighting this wave seems like a bad idea, because it’s only causing them to lose votes.
Trump believes this as well. From Breitbart:
Former President Donald Trump told Breitbart News exclusively here on Friday that Republicans must engage and fight Democrats on mail voting and ballot harvesting like the Democrats fight…
…saying the GOP has ‘no choice’ but to ‘live with the system that stinks’ for now until Republicans get back into power and can change it for the better.
Trump noted that mass reform is necessary, and we need to embrace “same-day voting, paper ballots, and voter ID.”
He also said the entire mail-in and ballot harvesting system is “corrupt” and in fact, the mail-in ballot “will always be corrupt.”
However, Trump added that Republicans “have no choice” but to compete with Democrats on these fronts.
The Democrats know it’s corrupt and the Democrats should want to fix it but they don’t because they do have an advantage under that system.
For the time, though, we have to live with the system that stinks so we have to fight it like they do, which is your question.
“Fight like they do” might come as a surprise to Trump’s supporters, though many political experts agree that it’s the correct approach.
Some Republicans have come out and said the reason we didn’t get a red wave, is because the GOP resisted the mail-in/ballot harvesting push.
Trump finished by saying that Republicans “have to fix” the system but in the meantime, they’ll have to play the game if they want to regain power.
As time goes on, we’ll have to see if more right-wing voters accept the mail-in voting, and the idea of “fighting like Democrats.”

- Trump noted that the entire system is corrupt and needs to be fixed.
- But he said that if they want to win in 2024, Republicans might have to “fight like Democrats.”
