DeSantis Makes His Move After Trump Suffers Major Tragedy – ‘The People Deserve The Truth…’

It’s been two months since Donald Trump was shot in the ear by a gunman in Pennsylvania. This marked the first assassination attempt on a current or former president in over forty years.

Had Joe Biden or Kamala Harris been the victim of this assassination attempt, we would still be constantly hearing about it from the mainstream media. Since Trump was the victim, however, the media has tried to sweep it under the rug. Indeed, they’ve wanted voters to move on from it as quickly as possible.

By this past weekend, the mainstream media had succeeded in ensuring that many Americans had forgotten about the July assassination attempt on Trump. Unfortunately for them, that all changed on Sunday when another assassination attempt on Trump was narrowly thwarted.

This time, the wannabe assassin targeted Trump while the former president was golfing in Florida. The Secret Service was thankfully able to open fire on the would-be assassin. They then apprehended him before he could open fire on Trump.

While it’s great that the Secret Service was able to stop this attack before anyone was hurt, this also marks the second time in 64 days that Trump has been targeted by an assassination attempt. That’s why Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is stepping in to ensure that the American people get the answers they deserve about how this could be happening.

From Fox News:
As more information comes out about what is being investigated as an attempted assassination on Trump’s life, DeSantis announced Florida will conduct its own investigation to find out what happened at Trump International Golf Club.

“The people deserve the truth about the would-be assassin and how he was able to get within 500 yards of the former president and current GOP nominee,” DeSantis said in a post on X.

The American People Need Answers

Stopping the gunman before he could fire a shot at Trump is indeed an improvement on the Secret Service’s part. After they dropped the ball so badly in July, that bar was a low one, but at least nobody was hurt this time around. However, it’s still simply unacceptable that another gunman was able to get this close to Trump.

In the two months since Trump was shot in the ear in Butler, Pennsylvania, the American people have been given very few answers as to how that could have happened. Meanwhile, Joe Biden’s government has shown little interest in getting to the bottom of that assassination attempt. If the federal government couldn’t be motivated to get answers when Trump was actually shot, they likely will be even less vigilant in investigating an assassination attempt in which nobody was hurt.

That’s why DeSantis should be applauded for stepping in and launching his own investigation. Any potential incompetence from the Secret Service when it comes to protecting Trump needs to be exposed immediately. Politics aside, any current or former president should be able to rely on the Secret Service for the best protection. With two assassination attempts in two months, however, that is clearly simply not what Trump is getting.

We will eagerly await the findings of the investigation that DeSantis is launching. Here’s hoping that Trump and the American people finally get the answers that we all deserve!

Key Takeaways:

  • A second assassination attempt against Trump is narrowly thwarted.
  • DeSantis launches his own investigation into what happened.
  • Americans still have few answers on the July assassination attempt on Trump.
