Hours after the midterms are over, Trump is replacing one of his top White House cabinet members.
President Trump had some big wins last night, as well as some expected losses.
Almost all the candidates he campaigned for pulled through, which all added up to historic gains in the Senate.
That will protect him to some extent from the subpoenas and investigations likely to come from House Democrats.
But he needs a man who can defend him legally, a lot better than the one he has now.
Now, just hours after the midterms his Attorney general has resigned, and Trump is already making way for someone new.
From Trump’s Twitter account:
We are pleased to announce that Matthew G. Whitaker, Chief of Staff to Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the Department of Justice, will become our new Acting Attorney General of the United States. He will serve our Country well….

….We thank Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his service, and wish him well! A permanent replacement will be nominated at a later date.

Well, that was fast.
Jeff Sessions is a great man and has served Trump well in the war on drugs, but he let the investigations against Trump get out of hand.
So now Trump has Whitaker in the meantime to fill that seat, and it sounds like he may hire an attack dog to defend against Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters.
