That’s what they get for going after Israel.
Israel is the only true democracy in the Middle East. Most of its neighbors are kingdoms or dictatorships.
It’s also the only Jewish state on the planet. As such, it is hated by numerous countries.
What’s worse is a movement throughout Western nations aimed at sanctioning Israel. The BDS movement is on the side of Israel’s many enemies.
Their goal is clear: to destroy Israel.
For a long time, one of Israel’s enemies functioned right out of Washington, D.C. They enjoyed direct access to our government.
Not anymore.
From Fox News:
The Trump administration announced Monday that it is closing the Palestine Liberation Organization’s mission in Washington, citing Palestinian leaders’ resistance to peace talks and attempts to get an international court to prosecute Israel for alleged war crimes…
“The United States will always stand with our friend and ally, Israel,” National Security Adviser John Bolton said during a speech to the Federalist Society…
“The United States supports a direct and robust peace process, and we will not allow the ICC (International Criminal Court), or any other organization, to constrain Israel’s right to self-defense.”
It’s clear that many in Palestine are not interested in peace with Israel. They want to wipe the nation off the map.
After decades of trying to find peace between the two groups, the U.S. is at its wit’s end.
But one thing is clear, Palestine has many allies around the world. They seek to weaken Israel’s role in the Middle East.
They don’t want the nation capable of defending itself. They don’t like Israel to have a robust and effective military.
Palestine’s allies are seeking ways of undermining a sovereign nation. They even exploit the U.N. to accomplish their goals.
Sadly, only a few nations stand behind Israel. The United States is one of them.
President Trump has vowed to stand with Israel, come what may. Even as the U.N. and other groups attack, Israel has an ally in the U.S.
Perhaps Palestine will learn from this rebuke. Maybe they will begin to take the peace talks seriously.
But I’m not holding my breath.
