The new year is upon us and millions of Americans have vowed to make 2023 better with New Year’s resolutions. Many Americans share in this tradition, working toward important goals throughout the year.
So, it stands to reason that one of the country’s most well-known couples, former President Trump and his wife Melania, have their own resolutions to pursue. We know what Trump’s 2024 resolution is: to be re-elected to the White House and make America great again.
But what about 2023? A reporter asked what his and Melania’s resolution might be. And his answer brought a smile to the former first lady’s face.
From The Conservative Brief:
Former President Donald Trump was discussing his New Year’s Eve resolutions with a reporter over the weekend, and one of them got a laugh out of his wife and former First Lady Melania Trump. The Trumps talked with reporters at their Mar-a-Lago resort home in Florida before celebrating with family and friends…
As he turned to leave, a reporter asked what his resolution was for him and the former first lady, to which he responded: “Well, we have a great relationship, we’ve gotten along very well from day one, and we’re going to keep it that way” — eliciting a laugh from Melania.
In his trademark style, Trump responded that he and his wife have a “great relationship.” In the new year, they plan on keeping it that way. This simple yet sincere remark certainly pleased Melania, who was with Trump as he spoke to reporters.
Donald and his family have a big year ahead of them. While he was the first Republican to announce a 2024 presidential bid, he will most likely not be the last. As the year unfolds, expect to see several key Republicans announce candidacies.
Many will announce their campaigns during the Summer of 2023 or into the Fall. Except to see debate schedules and rallies announced, as numerous contenders fight for the nomination. Trump will have to stay on his toes, preparing a defense against the possibly many Republicans eager to clinch the nomination.
His resolution will be tested as he traveled from state to state, making his case to Republican voters. Trump has an uphill battle. While he still enjoys the support of millions of Americans, many within the GOP appear eager to move on from his MAGA movement.
If Trump intends to win re-election in 2024, he will have to convince more than a few Republicans… as well as many independent voters.
Can he do it? I guess we’ll find out.
