Trump Reveals His Final VP Shortlist – Are You Surprised by These Names?

With major primary events happening in a week or so, many believe Trump will wrap up the GOP nomination soon. Democrats are terrified about the momentum he is building. Just as Biden is losing support and struggling, Trump appears to be mounting a historic comeback.

And all eyes are on who Trump will pick to run with him in November.

Plenty of names have been thrown around. And Trump, a master showman, has only hinted at who he might select. But now, he has just given his supporters a big glimpse into his process. He revealed his shortlist for a 2024 running mate.

From The Post Millennial:
President Trump has unveiled a shortlist of at least six potential Republican running mates during a town hall on Monday, providing a glimpse into his potential Vice Presidential choices if he secures victory in the November election.

Among the individuals on Trump’s list are Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, all of whom were former rivals. Additionally, Trump included South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, Florida Republican Byron Donalds, and former Democrat Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard on his roster.

During a town hall this week, Trump revealed his list of potential running mates for the 2024 Election. Some of the names have been floating around for a while. But some will surely surprise his supporters.

First on the list is Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. DeSantis was a former ally of Trump’s, but faced intense criticism by Trump when he entered the GOP primaries. Picking DeSantis would be a bold move by Trump—but a clever one.

Trump also mentioned Gov. Kristi Noem, a rising star in the Republican Party. Another popular name was Byron Donalds, a longtime Trump supporter. And confirming recent rumors, Trump revealed that former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard was being considered.

Gabbard famously abandoned the Democrat Party soon after Biden entered office. She has been a vocal critic of the sitting president. Gabbard recently met with Trump and his top advisors, stirring up speculation that she would join his team.

Trump did not give a hint which one would become his running mate. He said they were all “good” and “solid.” He said he wants someone with “common sense,” which suggests he believes all these leaders have that.

Noticeably missing from his list is Nikki Haley—who continues to run against him in the GOP primaries.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Trump revealed his shortlist for a vice president running mate.
  2. Among the names included Ron DeSantis, Kristi Noem, and Tulsi Gabbard.
  3. Trump has not yet revealed which one is his final selection.
