Over the weekend, conservative leaders appeared at the internationally-known CPAC. These conservative conferences are held year-round and attract some of the biggest names in the Republican Party. This weekend, the final speech was given by Donald Trump, who is building momentum for his 2024 comeback.
The former president spoke for quite some time. He laid out many of his second-term plans. Trump slammed the radical left and RINOs, vowing to restore America’s economy and security. But one particular promise left audience members shocked.
From Just the News:
[Trump courted] parents with promises to pay them “baby bonuses” and protect their children from creeping leftist ideology in schools…
“We will support baby boomers, and we will support baby bonuses for a new baby boom, how does that sound?” he asked before teasing the males in the audience. “I want a baby boom. You men are so lucky out there. You are so lucky, men.”
Trump addressed the rarely-discussed problem of population decline in America. Birth rates have dropped among American citizens. This has inspired Democrats to try to replace native-born Americans with immigrants, a scheme they’ve long denied, but men like Chuck Schumer recently copped to.
Trump’s solution to declining birth numbers is to provide bonuses to families who have children. Makes sense, huh? Instead of paying illegals welfare, free healthcare, and jobs, why not reward Americans for a change? This idea is done in some European countries. They provide bonuses, even a year’s worth of maternity leave, for new parents.
It seems this idea went over very well with attendees. And they gave Trump a big win.
From Daily Wire:
Trump won the support of 62% of respondents at the annual event’s straw poll, held this year in Fort Washington, MD. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who did not attend, came in second with 20%, and third place went to Michigan billionaire Perry Johnson.
Trump dominated the event’s straw poll, showing that he has not lost any momentum since leaving office. The vast majority of Republican voters are still behind him. Questions linger, though, over how he will be able to win over swing voters and moderates.
But with ideas like baby bonuses, he just might have an unbeatable campaign.
