Swing State of Ohio Finds Hundreds of Noncitizens on Voter Rolls, Plans Purge

Democrats all over the nation have spent the past few years trying to make it easier for noncitizens to vote in American elections. Knowing that illegal immigrants are more likely to vote left, Democrats feel that it is in their best interests to ensure that as many of them can vote as possible.

The great state of Ohio, however, is firing back at this effort in a big way. The Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose is preparing to purge hundreds of noncitizens who are currently registered to vote.

LaRose is doing this in response to an election-year audit that revealed major flaws in state voter rolls. States all over the country should take notice and consider making similar moves to ensure that noncitizens cannot vote in American elections.

From Fox News:

The audit uncovered 499 individuals who were registered to vote but were not U.S. citizens. The removals announced Thursday include individuals who confirmed their noncitizen status to the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. That data was then paired with the federal Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) database, which also confirmed them to be noncitizens.

“These individuals failed to respond to notices from the Secretary of State’s office asking that they either confirm their citizenship status or cancel their registration,” LaRose’s office said in a statement.

Officials clarified that any individual losing their registration as a result of Thursday’s action may submit a provisional ballot, which “will be counted upon proof of citizenship.”

This is huge!

Noncitizens have absolutely no business voting in American elections. Instead, our elections should be decided solely by taxpaying citizens who actually follow the law.

The stakes of a presidential election have never been higher than they are for this one. We simply cannot afford to allow Democrats to push themselves over the finish line by allowing noncitizens to vote.

Ohio is considered a swing state. Both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris will work overtime to win it, making what LaRose is doing all the more important.

Unfortunately for Democrats, this could only be the beginning when it comes to what LaRose has planned to protect the integrity of this election.

More from Fox News:
Ohio’s audit remains an ongoing process, and LaRose’s office says it may announce more voter roll purges as Election Day nears. The state has also removed nearly 155,000 registrations confirmed to be abandoned and inactive for at least four consecutive years.

“We want to make sure a mistaken registration doesn’t become an illegal vote. We also want to make sure that lawfully registered citizens can participate seamlessly in the process,” LaRose said.

As Election Day approaches, more states should consider conducting similar voter roll purges. Now more than ever, it’s crucial to ensure that noncitizens do not have a say in this election.

Key Takeaways:

  • Ohio is purging hundreds of noncitizens from state voter rolls.
  • This came after an election year audit that revealed major flaws in state voter rolls.
  • More states should consider doing this as well.
