When Trump promised to get government spending under control, he meant it. Throughout the last year, we’ve seen him go after some of the biggest wastes of money our country has ever seen.
And he’s not done yet.
Our government throws cash at many useless programs. Millions, even billions, are spent on things few Americans need or use. Meanwhile, our bridges, roads, and railways suffer.
The good news is things are changing. President Trump released his latest budget proposal for 2019. Looks like to major wastes of cash are about to get cut off.
From Breitbart:
President Donald Trump’s 2019 budget includes a proposal that would eliminate federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), according to a report…
“To conduct an orderly transition away from Federal funding, the Budget requests $15.5 million in 2019 and $15 million in 2020, which would include funding for personnel costs of $16.2 million, rental costs of $8.9 million; and other costs totaling $5.4 million,” according to the proposal…
CPB received $445 million in federal funding, according to the most recent data available from the organization. Those federal funds made up 15 percent of PBS funding and ten percent of funding for NPR radio broadcasting.
I’m sure many of you were shocked to learn that $445 million goes to public programming. That’s 445 million of your dollars. They fund LGBT programs aimed at children. And radio programs that push Socialist propaganda.
It’s a wonder why the government is funding art and television. It seems like some kind of conflict of interest. If free speech is to free from government influence, then why is CPB taking government cash?
Especially since the company gets more money from donors and even corporate sponsors.
Be sure this will be a fight. Liberals don’t like to lose money. They’d raise taxes and spend as much as they could. They fought tax cuts for Americans. They’ll certainly oppose cutbacks to their precious NPR and PBS.
