After Supreme Court Makes Epic Ruling – Biden Defies Them Again and Taxpayers Are Furious

Joe Biden is facing a very bad situation. He wants a second term. But the polling shows he will have a hard time convincing voters to pick him over Donald Trump. It appears his advisors are pushing him to make drastic decisions, perhaps to win over some voting blocs.

Biden could push for a devastating cease-fire in Israel, to appease anti-Israel progressives.

Now, it is likely Biden is eyeing another move to win over college-educated voters. Despite a Supreme Court ruling, Biden is going ahead to put a bigger burden on taxpayers. It worked before and it might work again.

From The Blaze:
The Biden administration announced Wednesday morning that it has approved the cancellation of another $1.2 billion in federal student loan debt, according to a White House press release…

Borrowers enrolled in SAVE who took out $12,000 or less and have been in repayment for at least 10 years are eligible for the debt forgiveness plan. However, those who took out more than $12,000 could also see their loans wiped out.

The Supreme Court had previously ruled that Congress has the power to cancel student loans. However, Biden is once again issuing an order to wipe out $1.2 billion in student loan debt.

The debt comes from a program called “Saving on a Valuable Education” a federal loan program. Those who took out $12,000 or less will see their debt removed. But those who borrowed more could also get this break.

Critics have been merciless over Biden’s student loan moves, and not just because he is defying the Supreme Court. Whenever Biden “erases” student debt, that burden gets passed onto taxpayers. Borrowers were required to pay back that money. If they get those debts canceled, that money comes from Americans—some of whom never went to college.

But the gamble paid off in 2022, when Biden rushed to create a student loan forgiveness program. He did this after previously saying he wouldn’t. It is likely he did this to win back young voters, just before the midterms.

Now, with the reelection in the balance, Biden is once again refusing to comply with the court’s ruling. This is consistent with the Biden administration’s policies to date, which have given breaks to Biden’s allies while hurting working Americans.

Key Takeaways:

  • President Biden has approved an additional $1.2 billion in student loan cancellations.
  • This comes after the Supreme Court ruled that Congress can forgive student loans.
  • Biden has repeatedly ignored the court’s ruling, to perhaps win back voters.
