Judges at all levels in the U.S. have been getting beat up as much as politicians in D.C. over the last few years. Legal decisions that benefit criminals and woke ideology prompted Americans who believe in the Constitution to doubt the judicial system.
That doubt grew into distrust and disgust in polls that showed how badly Americans disapproved of judges’ actions. This disapproval grew with the many legal cases that have attacked former President Donald Trump.
The highest court in the country received a shout out from Americans following a recent poll. The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) jumped in approval ratings after its recent high-profile decision that protected Trump’s constitutional rights.

The Supreme Court’s approval rating has increased after it ruled that states could not disqualify former President Donald Trump from their 2024 ballots, according to a new poll published by Marquette University Law School on Wednesday.“This is the highest approval of the Court since January 2023, when it was also 47% with 53% disapproving. The last time approval was greater than 50% was [in] March 2022, when it was 54%,” Marquette University noted in its press release about the poll. 56% of respondents supported the Court’s decision in Anderson, according to the poll.
Poll numbers jumped after SCOTUS decided the Trump v. Anderson case. The high court ruled that the Colorado secretary of state could not prohibit Trump from appearing on the ballot in the 2024 presidential election for his actions on Jan. 6, 2021, surrounding the storming of the U.S. Capitol. The Colorado supreme court had argued that Trump’s actions disqualified him under Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution’s 14th Amendment.
The poll showed that the Court’s approval rating jumped by seven percentage points to 47%, though 53% of respondents still disapproved of its performance. The Court’s approval rating fell in 2022 after the leak of a draft opinion by Justice Samuel Alito. The case was Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization where the majority of the Court decided there is no constitutional right to terminate a pregnancy.
The high court has decided to hear multiple cases where Trump is involved. Another high-profile case is Trump v. United States where the former president has claimed constitutional immunity from criminal prosecution for actions committed during his presidential term.
Poll respondents weren’t as supportive of the former president. The survey showed that 62% of respondents believed a former president should not have immunity after leaving office. When asked whether Trump, specifically, should have immunity, the figure dropped to 56% in opposition.
