These district attorneys have been largely blamed for the rise in crime. Critics point to their policies of not prosecuting shoplifting and vandalism. These DAs have also supported eliminating cash bail, defunding police departments, and releasing convicts from prisons.

One of these district attorneys is Orleans Parish’s Jason Williams. Recently, he was getting into his car with his elderly mother. That’s when his own policies appeared to come back to haunt him.

“Williams declined to prosecute 65% of all criminal cases in New Orleans in 2021, but slowly began to prosecute more cases as crime in the city rose” The Daily Caller reported.

Two men with “high-powered automatic rifles” confronted DA Jason Williams as he was escorting his 78-year-old mother to his car. The men stole the vehicle and later abandoned it somewhere nearby.

According to police, the same two men then stole another car from a young woman in the area.

Williams got elected as district attorney to the Orleans Parish, thanks to funding from George Soros. He was one of many attorneys who were brought to power, thanks to Soros’s massive political machine.

This leftist DA was known for refusing to prosecute the vast majority of crimes in the district in 2021. He refused to do anything about 65% of the criminal cases in New Orleans from that year. That is consistent with the behavior of most of Soros’s DAs, who appear to be embracing “criminal justice reform.”

Only after crime escalated, did Williams start to change his mind. Backlash from residents across the country has put pressure on these DAs. Some have been recalled while others face tough re-election odds.

But it appears Williams’s attempts to uphold the law since 2021 have not done enough to turn the tide. These two men who stole his car are reportedly still at large. How they were able to acquire “high-powered” firearms in a pro-gun control area is still a mystery.
