What’s Happening:
For many weeks, we watched as hard-working truckers fought for freedom in Canada. Their Freedom Convoy was cruelly shut down, without the prime minister once bothering to meet with them. But their brave actions will not long be forgotten. Especially in the United States.
We heard about the “People’s Convoy” set to drive across the country to D.C. American truckers are fighting their own battle to be heard. But that’s not all. Republicans in the Senate are honoring those Canadian truckers who embraced liberty, at great cost. And they are making sure they won’t suffer at the hands of Biden.
From OANN:
Republican senators introduced a bill to exempt foreign truck drivers from vaccine mandates when temporarily entering the U.S. for business. Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) led the charge on Tuesday in introducing the Terminating Reckless and Unnecessary Checks Known to Erode Regular Shipping or TRUCKERS Act.
In a statement, Scott called Joe Biden’s vaccine mandates “ridiculous.” He added, truckers are the lifeblood of the U.S. economy and placing those restrictions on them will only make the ongoing supply chain crisis worse. GOP Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-Fla.) is expected to announce a companion bill in the House later this week.
Senate Republicans announced the TRUCKERS Act, or Terminating Reckless and Unnecessary Checks Known to Erode Regular Shipping. As far as clever names for bills go, that’s a good one. The bill will lift harsh mandates for foreign truckers who temporarily enter the U.S. to deliver goods.
Biden and Trudeau’s mandates have been punishing truckers, the one group keeping the supply chain alive. These leftist idiots’ restrictions could further put a strain on our economies. Yet Biden does nothing to help relieve the issue, despite constantly promising he would. This bill would prevent Biden from hurting truckers coming in from Canada or other countries.
But the obvious question is, does this bill have a chance of passing? If Democrats knew what was good for them, it would. This kind of bill would signal some much-needed goodwill among Americans and Canadians. But it’s unlikely Democrats will do anything right now that will give Republicans a win.
So, this bill might not see the light of day until Republicans retake Congress.
Key Takeaways:
- Senate Republicans introduce the TRUCKERS Act, aimed at helping truckers.
- The bill would end mandates for truckers bringing goods into the country.
- This comes after the Freedom Convoy, which protested in Canada.
