This week, the Supreme Court scored a major win for Donald Trump. They struck down attempts by liberal-leaning states to remove him from the ballot. Not only did they overturn rulings in Colorado, Maine, and Illinois but they ensured that no state has the power to remove a candidate from a federal election.
This has outraged Democrats, who claim Trump is not eligible because he staged an “insurrection” on January 6th. Critics have accused Democrats of trying to steal the election, by depriving Americans of voting for their candidate.
The court order shuts down any pending lawsuits and decisions by liberal states. But one Democrat congressman is unwilling to accept this decision. Soon after the Supreme Court gave its ruling, he vowed to revive a bill that would prevent Trump and many others from running for office.

In the wake of Monday’s unanimous Supreme Court ruling, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) promised to “revive legislation” that would prevent anyone guilty of participating in an “insurrection” from running for president…“I am working with a number of my colleagues, including Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Eric Swalwell to revive legislation that we had to set up a process by which we could determine that someone who committed insurrection is disqualified by Section 3 of the 14th Amendment,” he added.
Rep. Jamie Raskin has promised to revive a bill that would “set up a process” to ban Trump from running for office. He claims that Congress needs to establish a way of preventing “anyone who has sworn an oath of office” from running if they “engage in insurrection or rebellion.”
Despite Trump being proven guilting of any such crime, Raskin added “Donald Trump is disqualified.” No court or jury has proven Trump committed any form of rebellion. Yet Democrats seemingly have decided he’s guilty outside the courts or any judicial process.
It is impossible to think this move by Raskin is not partisanly motivated. Democrats, infamous for wrongdoings of their own, are working with Raskin on this legislation, including Chinese spy-compromised Eric Swalwell and failed DNC head Debbie Wasserman Schultz (who colluded with Hillary Clinton in 2016 to rob Bernie Sanders of a fair primary).
Raskin claims because a partisan House “already impeached Donald Trump,” he has the authority to ban him from running again. Few Americans won’t be able to see through this transparent attempt at stopping Trump from returning to office.
But the lengths Democrats are willing to go to stop Trump and other Republicans from winning elections is alarming. They are not concerned with the damage they are doing to the electoral process or our democracy. As long as they hold onto power, they are happy.
