What’s Happening:
It’s hard to deny that 2022 wasn’t the year of Ron DeSantis. The Republican governor of Florida took on the radical left–and won. He even bested Hollywood powerhouse Disney. Not only did he not buckle at the company’s attempt to overrule a new law, but he revoked its special tax status in the state.
DeSantis’s record of winning in the state propelled him into a massive re-election victory. Not only that, but Republicans won big in Florida–experiencing a red wave not seen in most states. But the governor is far from finished. Because this possible 2024 contender is taking the culture war to the left’s front door.
From Just the News:
After a resounding re-election victory in the November election, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is delving even further into America’s increasingly bitter cultural wars…
DeSantis Press Secretary Bryan Griffin said on Twitter in late December the administration was “actively investigating” reports of “a sexually explicit performance marketed to children” in the state, which multiple media outlets said referred to a “drag queen” show where children were allowed to attend.
Gov. DeSantis is not backing down. His office is launching 2023 with campaigns against the left’s most precious holy grail, the LGBT movement. He had already banned discussion of sexuality and gender in lower grades within public schools.
Now, he is directing his office to root out attempts by the left to “groom” young children. His team is actively investigating reports of drag shows aimed at children and other “sexually explicit” performances. This comes as reports from all across the country reveal the left has been exposing children to shockingly inappropriate sexual content.
But that’s just for starters. DeSantis’s office is also outlawing hormone therapy and irreversible surgeries for minors whose parents say they are transgender. Wow. This is a big deal. Democrats have fought tooth and nail in recent years to defend and promote transgenderism, especially among children.
It seems to be the latest, trendy minority group Democrats have tried to exploit and prop up. But DeSantis is not afraid to go toe-to-toe against this agenda. He has also trained school board members and other leaders on how to protect parental rights.
From all appearances, DeSantis is shaking the leftist establishment in Florida. Perhaps he needs to do it across the country…
Key Takeaways:
- Ron DeSantis had a winning year in 2022, thanks to his strong conservative leadership.
- He is starting 2023 with campaigns against the radical left’s biggest causes.
- The governor is fighting against transgenderism for minors and other attempts at grooming.
