In this post-Roe America, Democrats are on the warpath to push abortion as the only option for low-income families. They seem to think that struggling families’ only option is to abort a pregnancy, rather than working hard to raise a child.
In some states, Democrats have even tried to shut down centers that provide free services to pregnant women.
But if Republicans have their way, families of all sizes will score a huge win. They are making plans to help Americans who choose life and decide to raise happy, healthy families.
And while Democrats are working to deprive Americans of the joy of having children, Republicans are incentivizing family. From Fox News:
Republicans are mounting their own effort at an expanded child tax credit that includes applying the credit to fetuses in the womb.
Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, is leading a package of bills in the House called the Providing For Life Act, an ambitious attempt at overhauling the federal government’s family care system…
“By expanding the child tax credit to include the unborn and providing additional support to working families, empowering women to care for their babies regardless of socioeconomic status or zip code and improving access to community resources, we can make a meaningful difference for those in need,” Hinson said.
How interesting. Despite Democrats crowing on and on about how they are the “only” ones supporting women and mothers–Republicans are looking to expand provisions to help families. And, mind you, they are interested in just throwing out more welfare, which only hurts families.
Instead, they want to expand the child tax credit for families and even have it apply to fetuses in the womb.
This is a brilliant move. Anyone whose ever been pregnant knows how many costs are involved, long before the baby is born. There are endless doctor visits, not to mention products and other costs, leading up to the delivery. Why shouldn’t families who are expecting get a tax credit for the child in mom’s womb?
The new legislation will also provide additional support for working families. But not in the form of handouts, but methods that will empower families to earn and provide for themselves.
All of left’s attempts at “helping” Americans have come in the form of taxpayer-provided welfare. That hasn’t encouraged families to grow and thrive, but become dependent on the government. Liberal welfare has only spread poverty and misery across the nation, actually encouraging abortion and other crimes.
This Republican move could not only help families, but save lives. I’m sure Democrats will oppose it, tooth and nail.
