There was a time when Saturday Night Live! was a show that liberals and conservatives alike could enjoy together. Indeed, the NBC sketch comedy show made fun of leaders of both political parties fairly equally for decades.
Sadly, that all changed when Donald Trump became president in 2016. In the years since then, Saturday Night Live! has become shamelessly liberal, going easy on Democrats while vilifying Republicans in sketches that are so tinged with bitterness that they are hopelessly unfunny.
Thankfully, it seems that this all might be about to change. On the latest episode of the sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live! shocked everyone when it went hard at Kamala Harris. In fact, the sketch was so anti-Harris that it has led some social media users to declare that “Democrats have lost SNL.”
The sketch featured Harris and Trump competing on Family Feud with their running mates and others. It ruthlessly mocked Harris, brutally making fun of both her odd mannerisms and her embarrassingly frequent “word salad” moments.

During the game, the contestants were asked to name something they keep in their glove compartment. After ringing in, [Maya] Rudolph’s Harris gave a long-winded response about her family history before finally answering, “A glock, Steve. A big old glock.” [Andy] Samberg’s Emhoff, so impressed by Harris’ answer, gave the exact same response − which turned out to be on the board again (another gun).
The skit even went after President Joe Biden. For years, Saturday Night Live! largely ignored Biden’s apparent cognitive failings just in the way that the Democratic Party wanted them to. Instead, they gave him a favorable portrayal that didn’t resemble who he truly is.
However, that all changed in this latest sketch.

Biden, meanwhile, was depicted by Carvey as being confused about where he was, mistakenly calling Harvey “Regis” (aka Philbin, who died in 2020) and asking to buy a vowel. “I’m not the old one now, Trump is,” he said. “The only difference, I know when to walk away: about six months too late!” The sketch wrapped with Johnson’s Trump giving a rambling answer, after which Harvey yelled, “Show me dementia!”

Conservatives everywhere have been rejoicing in the days since, as it seems that Saturday Night Live! may actually be funny again! Some also believe that this sketch could say it all about where Harris currently stands in the race.
“You know it’s over when the Democrats have lost SNL. They just destroyed Kamala Harris,” the columnist Dustin Grage wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
“When SNL is doing skits like this, you know that they think Kamala’s cooked. Mood shifted,” added the conservative activist Robby Starbuck.
He went on to say that he believes this sketch is indicative of just how uninspired average Americans are by Harris and her party.
“I see zero on the ground excitement for her,” he continued. “The whole administration is a joke to normal people. A sick, sad, long joke that we’re ready to be done with.”
It certainly does indeed feel like something has shifted. The entire entertainment world has been in the Democratic Party’s back pocket for much of the last decade. That’s why this betrayal from Saturday Night Live! had to come as especially shocking and hurtful to Harris and her camp.
Democrats and the mainstream media have spent months desperately trying to make it look like Harris is such an amazing candidate that there is no way that she can lose this election. If this Saturday Night Live! sketch is any indication, however, it seems that she isn’t doing nearly as well as they were expecting.
Here’s hoping that Saturday Night Live! really has finally turned on the left. The Democratic Party has devolved to such a depraved level of foolishness that there is tons of material there for Saturday Night Live! to poke fun at, should they have the guts to do it. Harris’ constant word salad moments alone are enough to provide fodder for countless hilarious parodies.
