Was she wrong, or just lying…?

Remember way back in 2017, when Trump scored one of his first, and biggest, victories?

He managed to get the GOP to pass a historic tax cut bill – one that was so effective, the economy hasn’t stopped surging since.

Democrats hate that you get to keep more of your own money.

It also drives them nuts that businessman Trump keeps proving them wrong at every turn.

So, it’s no surprise that one Democrat leader tried to slam Trump’s bill, saying it hurt the middle class.

…but she promptly got schooled.

From Fox News:

“Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., a 2020 presidential hopeful, is under fire for claiming that lower tax refunds are a sign that the Trump tax cuts are ‘a middle-class tax hike’…

…something a top fact-checker described as ‘nonsensical and misleading.’”

Harris was citing the fact that the average tax refund this year is down about 8 percent.

But as the fact-checkers realized, the refund is more about how much the government withheld from your paycheck.

The Washington Post’s Glenn Kessler clarifies:

“But the size of the tax refund has no bearing on whether a person’s taxes rose or fell.

A person might end up giving less of their income to the IRS — and still end up with a smaller tax refund.”

Well, of course.

In short, Kamala Harris is either lying, or she has no clue how the government and our tax system works.

Did she try to lie to people who were already enjoying lower taxes? Did she think Americans didn’t see higher numbers in their paychecks last year?

Or did she assume, as all liberals assume, that Americans are just fools who would believe whatever Democrats say?

Either way, she’s wrong.

The bottom line is that Americans are much better off thanks to Trump’s tax bill, and he continues to make good on his promises to hard-working Americans.

And this will likely mean victory in 2020, too, because we have a President who puts Americans first.
