This week, Joe Biden will give his second State of the Union address. This speech comes at a very bad time for his administration.
The last two years have been marked by controversy and crisis. Even as we speak, the White House is reeling from a classified documents scandal that could mire Biden in months of hearings.
And that’s not even getting into what House Republicans might uncover in their flurry of investigations in the new year. But Biden has even more to worry about, just before giving his historic speech.
Because while he plans on launching his 2024 re-election bid, his party turns on him—big time. From Breitbart:
One term of President Joe Biden is quite enough for a majority of Democrats who are keen for someone, anyone to step forward and foil his stated ambition for reelection in 2024, a poll released Monday shows…
The polling numbers reveal just 37 percent of Democrats say they want him to seek a second term, down from 52 percent in the weeks before last year’s midterm elections.
Yikes. The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll reveals that only 37% of Democrats want Joe Biden to seek re-election. That has dropped dramatically since before the 2022 midterms, where a majority of the party wanted Joe to run.
Some of the reasons Democrats are abandoning Biden? It’ll hardly come as a surprise that his advanced age and signs of mental decline are worrying voters. Not only that, but Joe’s failures to pass effective legislation have even soured Democrat voters.
Democrats, like the rest of America, don’t like seeing their “leader” sputter, cough, mumble, and drop one gaffe after another during appearances. His failing memory and sometimes bizarre statements have liberal voters very worried.
This should give the leaders within the party serious concerns. If voters don’t think Biden is viable, they really have to rethink their 2024 plans. They can’t rely on COVID to give them a win this time around. Republicans will most likely nominate a powerful leader to counter Biden’s frailty.
Democrats who want to keep the White House might have to look for someone else to replace Joe. Biden has been adamant about running again. But after this poll, the party just might have to force his hand.
- A new poll reveals only 37% of Democrats want Biden to run for a second term.
- They have soured on Joe over his failures and increasing signs of mental decline.
- Biden will run against a strong Republican, making him appear weak and useless.
