Congressional investigators have obtained hours of video footage from undercover officers who were dispatched by the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department to the U.S. Capitol to conduct electronic surveillance during the Jan. 6 riot, a critical new piece of evidence that could help lawmakers fashion long-delayed security reforms.

The footage [contains] scenes that appear to show plainclothes MPD officers exhorting rioters to climb scaffolding near the Capitol or talking about being undercover with liberal fascist protesters in a crowd.

Investigators within Congress have released hours of footage that reveal what numerous undercover cops were doing during the events of January 6, 2021. According to what is being revealed now, these plainclothes cops were among the crowds during the Capitol Building events.

Some of the footage shows these cops providing uniformed police with water after tear gas was fired. Other footage seems to suggest these undercover cops were encouraging civilians to climb scaffolding around the Capitol Building.

In one clip, an officer says, “Well, we go undercover as Antifa in the crowd.” This will surely spark a strong response from Americans, who have long questioned the official story regarding January 6. The admission from a police officer that they were among Antifa mobs might convince many that what we’ve been told about the events is not true.

Some critics will try to accuse Democrats and law enforcement of instigating some of the activity on that day. Trump supporters, perhaps Trump himself, will make these kinds of accusations. At the very least, this footage will be used by defense attorneys representing defendants in ongoing January 6 trials.

Trump’s lawyers might use this as part of his claims that January 6 was orchestrated, not by him, but by his political enemies.
