Hours After Iowa GOP Caucus Ends – Top Candidate Unloads 2 Bombshell Announcements

After a hotly contested battle, Iowa Republicans voted for their presidential nominee. Some candidates spent millions of dollars trying to win over Iowans.

But the clear winner, by a longshot, was former President Donald Trump.

Trump’s massive victory, convinced one rising star to make a sudden announcement. And that was followed up by something nobody was expecting.

From Washington Examiner:
Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy suspended his 2024 campaign and announced he is endorsing former President Donald Trump in the GOP primary following a disappointing showing in Monday’s Iowa caucuses.

Vivek Ramaswamy, an outsider candidate and former CEO, only garnered around 7% of the vote in Iowa. Soon after the results came out, declaring Trump the clear winner, Vivek announced he was ending his campaign for president.

This comes just a day after Donald Trump attacked the fellow Republican. Trump warned voters that Ramaswamy was not a “MAGA” Republican. He even claimed that a vote for Vivek was a vote for “the other side.”

Despite these criticisms, Vivek openly endorsed Donald Trump for president. Ramaswamy revealed he had called Trump to congratulate him. And he told Trump that he had his “full endorsement” for the presidency.

It’s unclear what role Ramaswamy will play in the future. He might continue his political career, running for state or local offices. He could shake up Congress with a run for the Senate.

He might return to the business world. Or, he might end up getting a job with the Trump administration. Trump has been known to reverse his opinion on someone, even after criticizing them. With Vivek’s endorsement, Trump might warm up to the young man, giving him a role in his second administration.

Key Takeaways:

  • Vivek Ramaswamy announced he was ending his campaign after the Iowa caucus.
  • The Republican went on to endorse Donald Trump for president.
  • Ramaswamy only garnered around 7% of the vote.
