Currently, Donald Trump is the GOP frontrunner for the presidential nomination. But there are many candidates who are eager to nab the nod for themselves. A list of heavy hitters has announced their campaigns–with a few more sure to jump in soon.

But not all of those running to defeat Joe Biden seem ready for the spotlight. One of them, the mayor of Miami, thinks he can take on big dogs like Trump or DeSantis. He was recently interviewed, forced to answer some tough policy questions. But when the reporter brought up a name that most Americans have heard of, this Republican choked.

Republican presidential candidate Francis Suarez appeared to admit during a Tuesday morning radio interview about national security that he does not know what a Uyghur is.

The admission from Suarez came during an appearance on The Hugh Hewitt Show, where Hewitt asked Suarez, “Will you be talking about the Uyghurs in your campaign?”

“The what,” Suarez, the current mayor of Miami, responded.

“The Uyghurs,” Hewitt said.

“What’s a Uyghur,” Suarez inquired further.

Yikes. The reporter hit Suarez hard after this major flop saying, “You’ve got to get smart on that.” You are probably familiar with the term “Uyghur.” They are the Muslim minority ethnic group that communist China is currently trying to exterminate.

News out of China has revealed that the CCP has been rounding up the Uyghur and shipping them to concentration camps. Many are being used by the communist regime as slave labor, making products that are sold around the world.

The liberal elite have tried to ignore this inconvenient fact; they are too in bed with communist China to confront them on this horrific human rights abuse. Even the NBA has been silent on this evil, caring much more about its partnership with communist China.

But millions of Americans know about the plight of the Uyghur. It is shocking that this man, who thinks he has a chance at the White House, did even know the name. Apparently, there are no computers or smartphones at the Miami mayor’s office, for him to follow the news of the last six years.

I’m guessing this ugly gaffe is going to cost him big.
