Historic Trump Honor Proposed by GOP – Here’s Where Donald’s Face Could Appear Soon

Over recent months, Republicans have quickly rallied behind Donald Trump. He secured the GOP nomination, and now the party is backing him to return to the White House.

Even after a conviction from a Democrat-run court, Trump seems to be experiencing an upswing. He’s raised millions of dollars after the guilty verdict.

It even appears that Republicans in Congress are pulling for Trump. One representative introduced a bill that would honor Trump in a way few have. This hasn’t been done since 1945. If it happens, it will memorialize Trump forever.

From Daily Wire:
On Wednesday, Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) announced the Treasury Reserve Unveiling Memorable Portrait (TRUMP) Act, which would require the Treasury Secretary to print $500 Federal Reserve notes with Trump’s face. The proposal “offers several practical advantages” at a time when “Bidenflation continues to devalue our currency,” Gosar said in a statement, taking a swipe at President Joe Biden.

“First, larger-value currency will empower Americans with the freedom of more tangible options to save and exchange goods and services,” Gosar continued. “Additionally, the absence of large-denomination currency issued by the Treasury encourages Americans to rely on digital banking, which faces greater vulnerability to surveillance and censorship.”

Rep. Paul Gosar introduced a bill that would create a $500 bill with Donald Trump’s portrait. Gosar put forward the legislation to honor Trump, but it seems he is also doing this to expose Joe Biden’s flagging economy. The Republican claimed that this currency would provide “several practical advantages” at a time when Biden’s policies have harmed the economy.

Gosar based his claims on Trump’s overall popularity among investors in the speculative markets. He claimed that people interested in this $500 bill would seek it after as a collectible, which could result in the bill being more valuable than the actual currency.

Trump memorabilia is very popular among collectors, even those who do not support Trump’s campaigns. The former president famously released digital trading cards with his likeness, quickly becoming a hot commodity among investors.

Would the same happen with a $500 bill with Trump’s face on it? In all likelihood, many people would want one of these bills. However, the value it would generate for the government or the economy is unknown.

That being said, this legislation is unlikely to become a reality. The Senate is controlled by Democrats strongly opposed to all things Trump. And President Biden, who has called Trump everything but a terrorist, will not sign a bill immortalizing Trump in this way.

Key Takeaways:

  • A Republican lawmaker proposed a $500 bill with Trump’s portrait.
  • Gosar claimed this would provide several benefits to the economy.
  • There is a hot collectors market for Trump memorabilia, but this bill is unlikely to pass.
