Nowhere is this more evident than with the phony Russia dossier, which was the whole basis for the FBI securing the FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign.
Bruce Ohr, the Justice Department contact for Christopher Steele, knew that the British ex-spy’s dossier on the president was inauthentic.
The entire Russia investigation is based on a lie.
According to House Freedom Caucus chairman Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), Ohr confirmed the FBI “privately” re-engaged Trump dossier author Christopher Steele and continued receiving additional information, despite terminating its relationship with the former British intelligence agent. “This was after suggesting to the American public they had cut Steele off,” Meadows noted:

In another stunning admission, Ohr reportedly told the committee that the FBI lacked confidence in the Steele dossier — yet still used the largely unconfirmed document to obtain permission from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) to surveil Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
“Not only did the FBI know the dossier was unverified, but they also knew there were real credibility issues where it would never end up in a courtroom,” Meadows said as quoted by the Washington Times.
Ohr has now admitted that Steele, his close friend for over a decade, had a strong dislike for Trump before he even became president, and the FBI knew it.
Lawmakers who attended the hearing did not mince words. Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio told reporters, “When it comes to the dossier, the hours of testimony from Bruce Ohr only further confirm how wrong the FBI operated.”
Fellow lawmaker Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida echoed his colleague, stating that the FBI’s “excessive reliance” on the dossier calls their whole investigation into question.
Ohr’s testimony confirms what many Republicans already knew.
For Mueller, it was never about Russia/Trump collusion. It’s the reason why he has shown no interest in interviewing Bruce Ohr, or others regarding what they know about the alleged “collusion”.
If Mueller expected there was actually anything to it, he would start with the government officials behind the excuse for this surveillance and the leaks that started this story.
For Mueller, the phony dossier is just an excuse to start an investigation to find anything he can to impeach Trump, and he knows that Russian collusion isn’t it.
They will keep digging to find anything they can to take down Trump, but the American people don’t trust them, and neither does the president.
