Fans Ask Mike Rowe About Nike Ad—His Patriotic Reply Brings Tears To America’s Eyes

Mike Rowe thinks Nike should’ve chosen an unsung American hero for their “Believe in Something” ad.

Former NFL player Colin Kaepernick just won’t go away, despite the fact that no team wants to hire him.

Kaepernick is now playing the martyr, and Nike’s new ad depicts him as such:

Kaepernick’s Nike slogan says, “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.”

But what has Kaepernick sacrificed?

There are real Americans who have truly sacrificed everything, including their lives, because they believed in what this country stands for.

Mike Rowe used his Facebook platform to promote one such hero, and posted a touching tribute for his 5 million followers.

From Breitbart:

“Rowe dismissed the praise of Kaepernick, arguing in a Facebook post that if Nike wanted to ‘put someone’s face on a billboard – someone who epitomized bravery and sacrifice,’ it should’ve chosen Flight 93 passenger Tom Burnett.

‘Tom’s last act on earth was one of the most courageous things imaginable. And his last words to his wife, Deena, are among the most inspiring I’ve ever heard.

I’ll never forget Tom’s last words. I hope you won’t either.’

"We're Going to Do Something."You’ve been very quiet about the Kaepernick PR disaster at Nike. Any thoughts? – Sam…

Tom Burnett was one of 40 passengers who died on flight 93 on September 11th, 2001. He and other passengers bravely stormed the cockpit to prevent the terrorists from crashing the airplane into another building.

Rowe posted Burnett’s chilling final conversation with his wife:

Tom: We’re waiting until we’re over a rural area. We’re going to take back the airplane.

Deena: No! Sit down, be still, be quiet, and don’t draw attention to yourself! (The exact words taught to me by Delta Airlines Flight Attendant Training).

Tom: Deena! If they’re going to crash this plane into the ground, we’re going to have do something!

Deena: What about the authorities?

Tom: We can’t wait for the authorities. I don’t know what they could do anyway. It’s up to us. I think we can do it.

Deena: What do you want me to do?

Tom: Pray, Deena, just pray.

(after a long pause)

Deena: I love you.

Tom: Don’t worry, we’re going to do something…

Burnett’s sacrifice, and the sacrifice of his fellow passengers, saved countless lives that day.

That is true sacrifice and heroism, neither of which Kaepernick knows anything about.

Do you think Nike should pick a new face for their ads?
