Most patriots understand that government handouts are terrible. And instead of encouraging people to get out there and earn a living, many people are dependent on the government.

These government programs that are designed to provide temporary relief become permanent burdens. So, it’s time we made some changes.

The Trump administration has released a brilliant new plan for food stamps. It will not only save the taxpayer billions but ensure that people who really need help can get it.

And it just so happens to give freeloaders the kick in the pants they deserve.

The Trump administration wants to scrap food stamps for low-income Americans and replace them with boxes of non-perishable food items selected by the government, Politico reported Monday.

The proposal was touted by White House budget director Mick Mulvaney and included in the White House fiscal budget, released Monday.

According to the administration, it could save the federal government $129 billion over the next decade.

Under the plan, the amount of money low income families receive as part of the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program, also known as food stamps, would be slashed, and they would receive a product dubbed “America’s Harvest Box” by the Department of Agriculture. 

That box would include staples like shelf-stable milk, peanut butter, canned fruits and meats, and cereal.

Naturally, liberals are already attacking this plan. They claim that these boxes would not be able to accommodate people with dietary requirements and allergies. Um, then they can buy their own damn food!

It’s amazing how liberals do nothing but throw down roadblocks. Instead of offering advice on how to improve this plan, they complain like babies.

The idea to provide allergy-allowable foods into the food boxes is a great idea. It’s not a reason to kill this potential program.

These food boxes can help families who struggle to make ends meet. They can get healthy foods to supplement their own resources.

Plus, it will eliminate the way junk food makers exploit food stamps. Over 1/3 of all junk food and soda purchases come from food stamps. And their lobbyists ensure it stays that way.

This program would end a system that causes millions of Americans to gain weight and get diabetes. I guess liberals don’t care about that.
