DeSantis Sends Disney Spinning Again – After New CEO Admits Defeat, Ron Rubs It In

What’s Happening:

To the shock of millions of Americans, once family-friendly Disney has become the leading woke studio in Hollywood. Its top executives even went out of their way to fight Florida over a law that protects parents and children.

That led to a big shakeup, which saw the CEO canned and Bob Iger return. Recently, the returning CEO admitted it was wrong to get into a fight with Florida. And it appeared he might even be turning the company around.

From The Western Journal:

“Do I like the company being embroiled in controversy? Of course not. It can be distracting and it can have a negative impact on the company. And to the extent that I can work to quiet things down, I’m going to do that,” Iger said, in an all-but-obvious reference to Disney’s involvement on the left wing of the American culture war.

But does that mean Disney is done pushing woke content in its movies and shows aimed at children? Iger stopped short of saying that. It is possible the company will no longer openly oppose conservative values but don’t be fooled. They will still try to indoctrinate your children.

And it doesn’t look like Florida’s governor is fooled either.

From Breitbart:

For his part, DeSantis takes a different approach to Disney’s problems. He dismissed Iger’s stance as an innocent dragged into an unwilling fight over what critics called the “Don’t Say Gay Bill.”

“We didn’t drag them in, Tucker,” the Florida governor told Carlson. “They went in on their own, and not only opposed the bill. They threatened to get it repealed.”

Gov. DeSantis blasted Bog Iger after the CEO said the company was “dragged” into a fight with Florida. DeSantis pointed out that neither he nor the state forced Disney to attack the Parental Rights Bill. Disney went out of its way to attack it and vowed to get it repealed.

Top executives took the opportunity to vow to put more LGBT characters in its movies and shows.

Iger has the unpleasant task of repairing Disney’s reputation with Florida and Americans. But already he’s off on the wrong foot. He’s not owning up to Disney’s mistakes. He didn’t apologize and he didn’t vow to make content that connects with conservative Americans.

If the company wants to get back on the right track, it needs to do both of those things. But I’m not holding my breath.

Key Takeaways:

  • Disney’s returning CEO appeared to back down from its woke fight with Florida.
  • DeSantis hit back, saying Disney wasn’t “dragged” into this fight.
  • The company is suffering after pushing woke content and attacking Florida.
