Donald Trump is currently leading all his GOP primary rivals. But we still have nearly a year before the first Republican voters go to the polls. And it’s clear that Trump the “frontrunner” is terrified of what one man will do.
And now, Trump has even more reason to be worried.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has a sterling track record. And, unlike Trump, he isn’t under endless investigations and scandals. For a long time, Americans have wondered about this governor’s future. And now, he just issued some news that could shake up our country.
From Fox News:
After months of buildup and speculation, Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida is expected to officially enter the 2024 White House race next week.
The popular two-term conservative governor will file formal paperwork with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) next week to declare his candidacy for president, sources familiar with the governor’s decision confirm to Fox News.
According to a new report, Ron DeSantis will enter the 2024 presidential race next week. This confirms previous stories that he was going to make his move sometime in the month of May. A report by the Wall Street Journal claims he will file the paperwork–which will no doubt coincide with an official event or announcement.
Ron DeSantis is perhaps the most successful Republican leader at the moment. He secured a Republican supermajority in Florida, turning a state that was “swing” for decades into “red” territory.
DeSantis has scored wins for the conservative cause on numerous occasions, going to war with the Biden administration and even woke Hollywood juggernauts like Disney. He won a landslide re-election in 2022, winning by 1 million votes.
And there is good reason for Trump to keep attacking DeSantis. The governor can easily overtake Trump, should he go toe-to-toe with the former president. Trump has not been able to properly slander DeSantis, as he has other rivals.
In fact, Trump is coming off like a petty child with each unqualified attack. Trump seems to be doing to DeSantis what the left has done to him time and again: throw untrue accusations, hoping they’d stick.
Something tells me that won’t win over moderate or undecided voters. But we’ll have to see what happens next.
- DeSantis will file to run for president next week.
- The Florida governor has been teasing a run for months.
- Donald Trump seems to fear DeSantis, attacking him constantly.
