Democrat Governor of California Gavin Newsom has long criticized the conservative state of Florida. He has even aired ads and billboards, accusing Florida’s governor Ron DeSantis, of restricting its residents’ freedom.

Gov. DeSantis has repeatedly struck back, pointing out the liberal state’s ongoing problems.

A long-anticipated debate between the two governors happened this week. Some expected Newsom to be winsome and charming, besting DeSantis who is sometimes considered weak on camera. Instead, DeSantis went for Newsom’s throat.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis showed graphic images from woke children’s books during his debate on Thursday night with California Governor Gavin Newsom.

The moment came after Newsom was trying to defend his record on parental rights during the Fox News debate in Georgia…

“So this is a book that’s in some of the schools in California,” DeSantis added… “You would not probably be able to put this on air. This is pornography. It’s cartoons. It’s aimed at children and it’s wrong.”

DeSantis blasted California’s school system over its use of books containing graphic content in elementary schools. Liberals like Newsom have criticized Florida’s law banning sexual content in lower grades.

But before the entire country, DeSantis revealed just what kinds of books California is showing to children. DeSantis didn’t let up from there. He also produced an infamous map of a city Newsom once led as mayor… and one of California’s largest.

DeSantis then held up a map that showed where human feces have been discovered on the ground in San Francisco as Newsom chuckled. Nearly the entire map was colored brown.

DeSantis noted that California officials only decided to clean up some of the mess in the city when Chinese communist dictator Xi Jinping recently visited.

After Newsom tried to accuse DeSantis of restricting freedom in Florida, the Republican shut him down with a map of all the feces found in San Francisco. This “poop” map, available online, tracks all the places in the city where people regularly defecate. The city was nearly entirely covered in brown.

Users were impressed with DeSantis’s performance. It does not appear that Newsom got an upper hand during the debate. And many let him know it.

“DeSantis is kicking Newsom’s ass,” conservative radio host Mark Levin posted on X. “In fact, Newsom is looking and sounding silly.”…

“This is a massacre. If this were a boxing match, Newsom’s corner would have thrown in the towel a long time ago.”…

“I’ve never see anything like this,” conservative commentator Dave Rubin posted on X. “Newsom literally can’t say one sentence that is true. DeSantis is calmly just laying out facts and reality.”

It appears the Republican candidate for president had the upper hand in the debate, simply because he had the facts on his side. Newsom’s only arsenal appeared to be insults and dismantled talking points.

Gov. Newsom thought he was going to humiliate the Florida Republican. Instead, he might be regretting agreeing to this debate, right about now.
