Hours After Damar Hamlin’s NFL Injury – The View’s Joy Behar Dares to Blame “Heterosexual Men” and “Conservatives”

Injuries happen all the time in football. But when Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field, it gained national attention.

That’s due to the surprise and seriousness of the situation: he had to be given CPR on the field and after being taken to the hospital, officials later announced he’d suffered cardiac arrest.

Hamlin’s condition is apparently improving, but he remains in critical condition.

And The View host Joy Behar quickly placed blame — and maybe unsurprisingly, she found a way to blame conservatives.

The co-hosts were talking about Hamlin’s injury when Behar furiously slammed “heterosexual men” and “conservatives” for even supporting the idea of tackle football.

It became evident that she doesn’t believe kids should play the sport, and co-host Sunny Hostin said her son quit playing after suffering an injury.

Said Behar (from The Blaze):

45% of Americans think that tackle football is appropriate. Heterosexual men voted the most support for kids doing football.

And conservatives were more likely to support youth tackle football. Just saying.

Obviously, tackle football is something that should be avoided or maybe even banned (leftists love to ban things). And of course, only right-wing citizens could ever support such a thing.

While the sport in question is certainly dangerous – and always has been – many point toward improvements in equipment and rule changes that have made it exponentially safer over the years.

Players are better protected than they ever have been before, and some critics say that the rules have gone too far; that in fact, it’s less like old-school tackle football than ever.

The View hosts made no mention of this, either because it would hurt their argument or because they weren’t aware.

Either way, those who oppose the stances taken on the show probably aren’t surprised. Behar and her cohorts almost always find a way to politicize any event, and rapidly assign blame to people they don’t like.

To a lot of people, this seems predictable and downright adolescent.

At any rate, thousands of players, coaches, and fans have donated to a GoFundMe account to support a charity founded by Hamlin (it provides toys for underprivileged kids).

The goal was originally $2,500 but since the injury, that number has skyrocketed up to over $6.8 million.

Key Takeaways:

  • The View host Joy Behar blames “heterosexual men” and “conservatives” for supporting tackle football and youth football.
  • Critics quickly ripped the show for politicizing a tragic event, and once again blaming people they don’t agree with.
  • Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin remains in critical condition after suffering cardiac arrest on the field.
