Democrat Staffer Posts “Don’t Miss Next Time,” Hours Later Is No Longer Employed

Donald Trump was nearly assassinated on Saturday when a gunman opened fire on him during a rally in Pennsylvania. The former president is indeed lucky to be alive. He was shot in the ear before the Secret Service could protect him.

In the wake of this tragedy, many top Democrats have responded by offering compassion to Trump and calling for unity. Other leftists, however, have been taking to social media to express their fury that Trump survived.

‘Don’t Miss Next Time’

One of these leftists is Jacqueline Marsaw, a Democrat staffer of Rep Bennie Thompson (D-MS). Or at least, she was a staffer for Thompson before she responded to the assassination attempt on Trump by saying “don’t miss next time.”

From The Washington Examiner:
The congressman’s office confirmed to the Washington Examiner on Sunday that Jacqueline Marsaw, a former case manager and field director for Thompson, was no longer employed. In a brief statement, Thompson did not specify whether Marsaw was fired or if she resigned.

“I was made aware of a post made by a staff member, and she is no longer in my employment,” he said.

In since-deleted Facebook posts, Marsaw wrote: “I don’t condone violence but please get you some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time ooops that wasn’t me talking.”

In others captured by SuperTalk Mississippi News, she wrote: “Couldn’t happened to a nicer fellow but was it staged” and “That’s what your hate speech got you!”

Anyone who has social media has likely seen posts very similar to Marsaw’s in the days since Trump was nearly assassinated. Liberals love to condemn violence and hate speech, unless of course a conservative like Trump is the target of them. When it comes to Trump, no insult seems to be too far over the line. There’s also no call to violence that is too threatening in the eyes of many leftists.

Thompson’s History With Trump

Thompson is the ranking Democrat on the House Homeland Security Committee. It should be noted that during Trump’s recent trial in New York City, Thompson introduced legislation to block Secret Service protection for anyone who is serving time in prison.

Thank goodness there wasn’t time for this legislation to go through before the assassination attempt. Indeed, it’s now clear that Trump needs all the Secret Service protection that he can get.

Good for Thompson for taking the appropriate action when it came to Marsaw. However, her comments are a direct result of the rhetoric that Thompson and his fellow Democrats have said about Trump for years. This rhetoric may have partly led to a crazed lunatic thinking that assassinating a former president would make the world a better place.

In the wake of this horrific tragedy, it’s time for Thompson and his fellow liberals to take a hard look at the language they use regarding Trump and his supporters. Clearly, many lives may be at stake because of it.

Key Takeaways:

  • Democrat staffer has been hit with karma after responding to the Trump assassination attempt by saying “don’t miss next time.”
  • She worked for Bennie Thompson, who recently pushed for Trump to have less Secret Service protection.
  • The left’s rhetoric towards Trump and his supporters needs to end.
