What’s Happening:
I don’t have to tell you that most government-run schools go out of their way to push liberal dogma. Public schools are ground zero in the culture and political wars. Leftist teachers and school administrators work very hard to convince your children that God is dead, America is racist, and that Karl Marx was a hero.
That is why so many Americans have abandoned public schools for much better alternatives. In many states, tax dollars can be used to send children to private or charter schools. In Colorado, funding was made available to a Christian preschool to provide free classes for children. But when the state tried to force its progressive poison onto this school, they took them to court.

The Darren Patterson Christian Academy runs the “Busy Bees” preschool in Buena Vista. It was accepted into a new universal preschool program that offers 15 hours a week of free preschool to every 4-year-old in the state. The school later learned of nondiscrimination provisions regarding gender identity, which must be adhered to in order to receive funding. It filed for a religious exemption to the provisions but was denied.
Isn’t this interesting? Democrats go out of their way to prevent Christian “ideology” from entering public schools. But they try to force Christian schools to accept their gender dogma. In Colorado, this preschool would not be able to participate in this program, unless they embrace the left’s latest claims about gender.
The state refused to give this school an exemption on religious grounds. Sounds like a violation of the First Amendment to me.
The school is taking the state to court over this. The Alliance Defending Freedom is representing the school. ADF has accused Colorado of violating the school’s First Amendment rights by forcing a view onto them that goes against their beliefs.
In recent years, Christian schools and Americans have won court battles against the states. They have been able to receive funding for Christian education, even when liberal governments have tried to stop them.
It is possible this Christian school will win this battle. But the war will be far from over. This might end up being a bigger legal battle than it looks at first. We will be following it for sure.
