Another leftist Democrat was hit with felony charges. This one held a position influencing the justice system of one of the most radically liberal districts in America.
The depth and breadth of influence by leftists throughout the justice system can never be underestimated. They are working constantly to impact who is charged and who walks free, and basing it on leftist ideals that fall outside the law.
This time the left is using the law against a fellow liberal after a state prosecutor filed charges in California. This pits the top law enforcer of the state against someone who has been peddling liberal ideology for years.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced Wednesday he has filed charges against one of LA County District Attorney George Gascón’s top officials.Bonta, a Democrat appointed by Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2021, announced 11 charges against Diana Teran, an assistant district attorney. Bonta’s office alleges she accessed police officer files in 2018 when she worked for the LA County Sheriff’s Department and later improperly used that data at the DA’s office, which she joined in 2021.
“No one is above the law,” Bonta said in a statement. “Public officials are called to serve the people and the State of California with integrity and honesty. At the California Department of Justice, we will continue to fight for the people of California and hold those who break the law accountable.”
It’s almost comical that Bonta said “no one is above the law” considering this liberal won’t file charges against his own governor or federal lawmakers from his state. But, hey, it’s charges against a liberal who allegedly worked against police officers so hopefully Bonta lives up to his claim to hold people accountable.
Gascon, who has championed the leftist ideology of no cash bail and not prosecuting criminals, was forced to respond regarding the charges. His office said in a statement that it would comply with the state investigation.
What may even be juicier about this case is the ensuing fight between leftists in the California judicial system. While Bonta is claiming the seriousness of the alleged crimes, Gascon’s office deflected from the issue, and Teran’ attorney James Spertus dismissed the accusations as a “non-starter.”
“The case is just not prosecutable,” Spertus said. “I think it’s going to be very embarrassing for the AG’s office. I want the world to know that the AG’s office will face a very quick and expeditious loss on this sort of thoughtless legal theory that an official can be prosecuted for doing an official act.”
Those are legal fighting words, and it pits liberal against liberal in a courtroom battle. Add in the likelihood of a liberal judge presiding over the case and this could be a top contender for a new episode of a courtroom drama TV show.
