The border crisis remains in full swing according to most authorities, as illegal migrants continue to flood into the country. Some are finding new ways to evade the law and sneak in.
Republicans and right-wing citizens have accused the Biden administration of doing little or nothing to combat the problem.
But now there’s a more serious allegation — that the President’s top agency is actually pushing for open borders.
Since February of this year, authorities have apprehended and released about 1.4 million illegal border crossers into American communities. Some say these historic numbers are beyond disturbing.
Critics also claim Biden’s DHS is helping left-wing groups in their “open-border” agenda.
Various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) profit off federal contracts when they transport illegals into the U.S. interior. And many of these groups have ties to the “Abolish ICE” movement.
President Joe Biden is using the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to funnel American tax dollars to open borders groups, according to Sens. Roger Marshall (R-KS) and Bill Hagerty (R-TN).
Biden created the Alternatives to Detention (ATD) Case Management Program to provide services to illegal immigrants during deportation proceedings.
However, a lot of people say it’s just a smokescreen. All it really does is hand taxpayer cash to NGOs and other groups that don’t appear to want immigration or citizenship law of any kind.
The GOP senators wrote:
It is appalling, though not surprising from the current administration, that a program designed to augment Alternatives to Detention would be used as a ploy to further leftist ideology instead of enhancing the critical mission tasked to the Department.
In their letter, the Republican leaders specifically cited the Church World Service (CWS), which gets federal money for transporting illegals.
This group has also “been at the forefront of pro-open border anti-enforcement activities for years,” and they’ve even pushed for “diverting funds away from ICE and CBP enforcement activities.”
Essentially, this means taxpayer funds are being sent to groups that oppose the idea of a secure border.
The Senators added that “this questionable governance only gets worse,” as CWS is now “primarily responsible in determining which local government or NGOs would be awarded portions of the contract.”
The Biden administration has long since been accused of ignoring the border crisis, because they don’t want to do anything about it.
It’s why southern states like Texas have been forced to make strong moves of their own, in an effort to protect their citizens from the ongoing invasion. And that is what Texas has officially called it.
But if Biden’s DHS really is sending taxpayer funds to open-border groups, that’s going to cause even more backlash.
- Republicans have accused Biden’s DHS of funneling taxpayer funds to far-left open border groups.
- They argue that taxpayer cash goes to federal contracts, which open-border advocates take advantage of.
- This throws more fuel on the border crisis fire, as critics maintain that the Biden administration is ignoring the situation.
