What’s Happening:
Social media is full of meme’s where some crazy leftist demands or offers some wild “payback” for wrongs against their victimhood. The calm, rational response is to agree to their demand, “I accept your offer,” and watch as these unhinged fools slink away.
Leftists don’t have the intestinal fortitude to stand accountable for their personal actions or outlandish demands. One of the largest confectionery vendors that loves to attack all the “wrongs” of the United States is getting a mouth full of their latest flavor – “crow.”
As in “eat your own words” after opening your yapper and trying to demonize others. Ice cream manufacturer Ben & Jerry’s started a war of words it won’t win. It all began with a viral July 4th social media message where the company claimed the USA stole the land from Native Americans.
“This 4th of July, it’s high time we recognize that the US exists on stolen Indigenous land and commit to returning it,” the ice cream company proudly proclaimed on Instagram.
Ben & Jerry’s demanded that the land be returned to its rightful owners. What they didn’t count on was a Native American tribe accepting the offer, and now the bucket-heads must pay up or shut up.
From OutKick:
Nulhegan Band of The Coosuk Abenaki Nation Chief Don Stevens informed Newsweek he’s very interested in getting the land Ben & Jerry’s headquarters is on because it originally belonged to his tribe.
He told the publication the tribe was “always interested in reclaiming the stewardship of our lands.”
And this is one big scoop of “I accept your offer” that the company didn’t expect. This really shows why virtue-signaling leftists should learn to think before they speak.
From OutKick:
Ben & Jerry’s headquarters “sits on a vast swathe of U.S. territory that was under the auspices of the Abenaki people before colonization,” according to the same Newsweek report.
“If and when we are approached, many conversations and discussions will need to take place to determine the best path forward for all involved,” Stevens explained.
Appears that the Abenaki people have a rightful claim for the public offer made by Ben & Jerry’s. This should be great news to liberals everywhere who want what is right for all involved.
So, when will Ben & Jerry’s schedule a grand ceremony and hand over the keys to their headquarters and all the Abenaki land they say they own?
Likely never because the so-called socialists running Ben & Jerry’s aren’t about to change their capitalistic hearts and give away their company… and all its vast profits.
The company has gone quiet on the issue and hasn’t responded to media questions about them giving back the land.
Key Takeaways:
- Virtue signaling from leftist Ben & Jerry’s backfires.
- Native American tribe accepts offer and asks for land back.
- Ice cream company owns “stolen Indigenous land.”
