What’s Happening:
Who says karma isn’t real? In recent weeks, we’ve heard about several senators being admitted into the hospital. Two of them, Sens. Feinstein and Fetterman, were Democrats. It’s unclear whether Fetterman will be out of the hospital anytime soon, as many wonder if he’s even fit for office.
But, yet again, one of the aging lawmakers from the upper chamber of Congress found himself in the ER. According to reports, this 81-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after a fall during a private dinner. And it appears his own staff hasn’t had a chance to see him.
From The Hill:
Members of Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell’s (Ky.) leadership team say they haven’t spoken to him and don’t know the details of how seriously he was injured when he fell at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in D.C. Wednesday evening.
Senate Republican Whip John Thune (S.D.) confirmed that McConnell was attending a reception and dinner for the Senate Leadership Fund super PAC when he tripped and fell, requiring the 81-year-old leader to be hospitalized.
This can’t be good. After McConnell attacked Fox News in defense of the Democrats’ J6 scheme, he suffered a fall requiring a trip to the hospital. According to reports, the injury he sustained is unclear. Even his leadership team in the Senate doesn’t know what is going on.
McConnell has long been considered a RINO among Senate Republicans. Some fought to prevent him from being elected the party leader after 2022, accusing him of helping Democrats keep their majority. Even Donald Trump has accused McConnell of siding with Democrats and even communist China.
The Senate Minority Leader hasn’t done much in recent years to help the party push back against Biden. While he hasn’t supported Biden’s radical spending bills, he’s refused to use his bargaining power to stop him. He is also deeply committed to giving away all our money to Ukraine.
It seems pretty eerie that he suffered this fall after defending the D.C. liberal swamp. While we wish him no harm, we can’t help but see the connection. Maybe this will be a wake-up call to the fair-weathered Republican?
All we can hope is for a speedy recovery, and that some sense got knocked into him!
Key Takeaways:
- Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell suffered a fall during a private event.
- The 81-year-old man was rushed to the hospital; his condition remains unknown.
