After Trump Mocks DeSantis’ Boots – The Florida Gov Hits Donald With 1 Crazy Challenge

What’s Happening:

The Trump campaign went on a field day over rumors that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis wears lifts in his boots. Calling it “Bootgate,” Trump staffers repeatedly commented on the claims, mocking the Republican over the unproven “scandal.”

It appears Team Trump missed the irony, given the many times Trump fought people over his physical appearance.

Now, Gov. DeSantis is commenting on the rumors. He mocked those talking about “Bootgate.” And he called out Trump in a big move.

From Breitbart:
DeSantis said, “This is no time for foot fetishes. We’ve got serious problems as a country…

“I know Donald Trump and a lot of his people have been focusing on things like footwear. I’ll tell you this. You know, if Donald Trump can summon the balls to show up to the debate. I’ll wear a boot on my head. This is a time for substance. This is a time for us to debate the issues that matter to the American people.”

DeSantis hit back at people who tried to mock him over “Bootgate” during a recent interview. He accused them of having “foot fetishes” for being obsessed with what he wears on his feet. He then shifted to talk about the “serious problems” facing the country.

He then called out Donald Trump for spending so much time on this so-called scandal. DeSantis questioned why Trump has shown up for a debate with other Republican candidates for president. He even said that if Trump would debate him, “I’ll wear a boot on my head.”

Republicans have been repeatedly critics of Donald Trump’s failure to appear at any of the Republican debates. Some suspect Trump’s lead in the polls has convinced him he doesn’t need to debate anyone.

Others have pointed out that Trump has far too much to lose in debating. His rivals will call him to task over his handling of the pandemic, his actions after the 2020 Election, and the many criminal trials he is dealing with.

Trump appears content to take pot-shots at his rivals during rallies or through his campaign online. But he refuses to take any criticism back, while Democrats have long accused Trump of being an enemy of democracy.

For him to avoid debates and facing his rivals face-to-face just might prove them right.

Key Takeaways:

  • Ron DeSantis hit back at critics mocking him over “Bootgate.”
  • He blasted Donald Trump for not showing up to any of the GOP debates.
  • DeSantis claimed the “scandal” was just a distraction from “other issues.”
