After Supreme Court Makes Shock Ruling – Trump and Biden Make Unexpected D.C. Move

The battle of family planning continues to rage in the country. Ever since the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade, states have played an outside role in deciding the issue. Most recently, the state of Alabama ruled on IVF, which put a hold on the procedure.

Democrats immediately claimed Donald Trump was in agreement with the controversial ruling. They seem eager to put words in his mouth. But he quickly released a statement, defying their claims.

From AP:
Former President Donald Trump said he would “strongly support the availability of IVF” and called on lawmakers in Alabama to preserve access to the treatment that has become a new flashpoint in the 2024 presidential election.

Trump stated he “strongly supported” IVF procedures. He even called on Alabama Republicans to preserve the process, despite the recent court ruling. As it turns out, both he and Joe Biden are sharing the same view.

From Catholic News Agency:
Both former president Donald Trump and President Joe Biden are voicing staunch support for the type of fertility treatment known as in vitro fertilization (IVF), slamming an Alabama Supreme Court decision that established the personhood of frozen embryos.

This issue is the latest front on deciding policies on pregnancy and birth in America. Many strong pro-lifers believe IVF violates the sanctity of life, believing frozen embryos are alive. But some conservatives and most Democrats defend IVF as it has helped couples who struggled with conceiving naturally.

The left also strongly supports the procedure, as it has allowed gay and lesbian couples to acquire children.

The issue is one of a few rare times when Trump and Biden are in agreement. However, it is safe to assume they are on far opposite ends on how the government should support IVF. Biden has become nearly a tyrant in pushing abortion onto pro-life states. He appears to believe the federal government has the final say on these issues.

Trump, on the other hand, seems to believe it is the states’ responsibility—listening to the will of the people—to decide such policies. Should he be reelected, it is unknown if he’d use his executive authority to force his view, as Biden has on other issues.

Key Takeaways:

  • Both Donald Trump and Joe Biden support IVF procedures.
  • This comes after Alabama ruled against IVF procedures in the state.
