DeSantis Drops Hammer on Satanist Floridians – He Just Protected Our Kids Overnight in 1 Move

Florida has undergone a dramatic change since Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis took over. The popular governor has struck blow after blow against the left’s agenda. He has passed laws that uphold law and order, not to mention restore parent’s rights in classrooms.

The state had recently considered a bill that would grant chaplains to provide services on public school campuses. This would allow pastors and other church leaders to help students of faith.

Immediately the so-called Satanic Temple promised to put chaplains on school campuses. This could have been an attempt by this atheistic group to derail the law. But the bill passed and the governor just signed it into law—with this big caveat.

From The Post Millennial:
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law that allows for public schools to have chaplains to provide support services to students in K-12, but he said he would not be including the Satanic Temple members in the legislation…

In the graphic along with the comments, it said that the “faith leaders on campus offer a voluntary alternative mental health resource for students that stems from a higher power than government.”…

“Listen – we’re not playing those games in Florida. That is not a religion,” he continued.

In announcing a new law that allows religious chaplains to provide mental health services to students, Ron DeSantis revealed that Satanists will not be allowed in the program.

In the document explaining the new law, DeSantis stated that “activists who mock religion—like Satanists—cannot qualify as school chaplains. Contrary to what you might think, the “Satanic Temple” is not, in fact, a church that worships the devil.

In reality, it is a secular organization that tries to exploit America’s religious freedom to criticize and mock religious faith. Its “adherents” do not believe in God, or Satan, but try to use religious protections to undermine the religious freedoms of Americans.

The law requires parental consent and chaplains must pass a background screening. In addition to religious groups, “patriotic organizations” are also included in the program. Those include Big Brothers-Big Sisters, The Marine Corps League, and the Future Farmers of America.

Key Takeaways:

  • DeSantis signed a law allowing chaplains on school campuses.
  • He specifically denied Satanists from becoming school chaplains.
  • The law bans “activists who mock religion” which includes the Satanic Temple.
