The National Day of Prayer is a sacred day for millions of Americans. For generations, presidents would issue a message that encourages the faithful. Donald Trump and many other leaders have considered it a special day for all Americans.
It should not be a surprise, then, to see a message from Joe Biden posted on social media.
The White House issued a statement from Biden on the day. The message quoted from the Bible, but failed to mention God or Jesus Christ. Americans didn’t seem to think the message was sincere at all, given Biden’s track record in office. And they were quick to let him know.
From Breitbart:
On the National Day of Prayer, Biden wrote, “Scripture tells us to rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and be constant in prayer.”“On this National Day of Prayer, my prayer is that we keep faith that our best days are ahead of us and continue to believe in honesty, decency, dignity, and respect,” he said in a message that did not include the words “God” or “Jesus”…
“You’re the last person who should be quoting scripture, considering that your policies directly contradict the teachings of the Bible,” one wrote, as another pointed out that Biden pays lip service to scripture while pushing for the murder of unborn children.
Many users took exception to Biden’s message posted on the National Day of Prayer. It is unknown if Biden participated in any special events for the day beyond this message. But users were quick to criticize the Democrat, who continues to lay claim to the Catholic faith.
He claimed Americans believe in “honesty, decency, dignity, and respect.” But Biden was shown none of such things by users outraged over his presidency. They attacked Biden over his decisions in office, particularly his ongoing support for abortion.
The Catholic church is strongly opposed to abortion, a policy endorsed by the pope himself. Yet Biden has defied the church’s stance on this issue, as well as its stance on gender ideology and sexuality.
Others let Biden know they were going to vote for his rival, Donald Trump. One person called him a “wannabe Catholic.” Many jumped on Biden’s statement and pointed out the apparent hypocrisy.
There seemed to be little signs of forgiveness and compassion coming from these supposedly religious Americans. However, these may have been largely conservative voters who disliked Biden’s administration, regardless of their religious views.
Key Takeaways:
- Joe Biden posted a statement to social media for the National Day of Prayer.
- Users criticized the Democrats’ statements, railing against him for his support of abortion.
- The National Day of Prayer has long been recognized by American presidents.
