After GOP Delivers Impeachment Demand – Democrats Make History in the Worst Way

Recently, House Republicans overcame obstruction from their Democrat colleagues to successfully impeach DHS head Alejandro Mayorkas. Citing his own policies and memos, Republicans blamed him for the crippling border crisis, which has resulted in over 7 million illegals entering the country.

This week, House Republicans delivered the impeachment articles to the Senate. It is the Senate’s responsibility to hold a trial and decide if an impeached official is guilty.

Democrats are in control of the Senate. Their leader, Chuck Schumer, held a vote to decide on the impeachment articles. And, in ditching 225 years of American tradition, they shocked the nation with this vote.

From The Hill:
The Senate voted Wednesday to dismiss two articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, shutting down the possibility of a lengthy Senate trial, which Republicans had demanded to bring attention to the Biden administration’s record on immigration and border security.

It marked the first time in 225 years the Senate voted to immediately dismiss impeachment charges approved by the House instead of holding a floor trial or referring the matter to a special committee to review it.

Democrats voted to quickly dismiss the House’s impeachment articles against Mayorkas. This is what most people were expecting to happen. It was unlikely Democrats would vote to convict a Biden official, just months before the election.

But to refuse to even hold a trial will shock Americans nationwide. There is ample reason to hold Mayorkas accountable for the current crisis. He has issued memos that directly prevent Border Patrol from preventing illegal immigration.

Instead, this Biden official is acting more like a leftist activist, demanding border agents process illegals and let them into the country.

When rejecting this impeachment, Chuck Schumer called it “the least legitimate, least substantive and most politicized impeachment trial ever in the history of the United States.”

The level of hypocrisy in this statement is too much for words. Twice Democrats impeached President Trump purely over partisan motives. The second time, House Democrats impeached him without even conducting an investigation.

Yet Schumer is claiming a legitimate attempt at holding a rebel official accountable is the “most politicized” impeached in our history.

Key Takeaways:

  • Senate Democrats voted to dismiss Mayorkas’ impeachment without a trial.
  • This comes after House Republicans blamed the Biden official for the border crisis.
  • Under Mayorkas, over 7 million illegal aliens have been welcomed into the country.
